Mach Zero Podcast #25: Dancing With the Boogeyman
FEAR is the dreamer’s leech! We all have it. We are scared because we care not to hurt ourselves. Fear is a noble instrument for caution and protection. However, fear can ambush, neutralize, and undermine our creative process.
Fear of humiliation, fear of failure, fear of death, fear of losing control, fear of whatever we predict might just be around the corner….we are afraid of our fear. And we should be because it is so super-normally alluring and distracting.
So what do we do? We learn to relate with fear in a different way. We turn toward it and de-activate it as an issue for us. I’ll show you how.
And the example I’ll use is Freddy Krueger and Nightmare on Elm Street. You might not think so, but it was loaded with great lessons about how to defeat, learn from and make fear a greater resource, and teacher.
